Music and Dance School

Learning,
passing on, sharing

The culture of transmission, nurtured within the Kevrenn Alré since its creation, has led to the sharing of knowledge through a music and dance school, where students of all ages learn and practise dance and instrumental techniques. Lessons are taught by both volunteer and professional instructors, following a structured programme that allows learners, at the end of their training, to join the adult dance or music ensemble. The music school provides individual lessons in bombarde, bagpipe, snare drum, percussion and clarinet, and includes two collective ensembles: the Bagadigan and the Bagadig. The dance school provides collective lessons organised by age groups. It includes lessons for children and two collective practise ensembles. These two ensembles from the music and dance School present the results of their training in an end-of-year show as well as during the contests in which they take part all year round. Performing on stage is an essential part of their training process. The teenage dance group is first of its category and has participated, with the children group, in the Dañsomp Ar Vro show, which was a huge success in Brittany, France, but also abroad. The values of the School are: access for all, transmission and core values of the collective.
