The Celtic Circle
Group of dancers perpetuating traditional Breton dances in costume.
Dancing,
passing on, sharing
Dance is at the heart of everything: it's where we learn steps, styles, how to listen to the group and the importance of the Breton dance circle (cercle), a space where everyone finds their place. Here, there is no need to impress at all costs; the most important thing is dancing together, sharing and feeling the soul of the local traditions, with dedication and without taking ourselves too seriously. As a member of the Kenleur confederation, the cercle participates, along with the bagad, in championships and performs in Brittany, France and even abroad. But wherever we go, the goal is the same: to showcase the richness of the Breton dances and to create a lively, sincere and collective moment. The transmission also plays an essential role. The senior members share their knowledge with the new ones, and each learns to dance without stepping on someone else's foot (a challenge at first!). Finally, it's a story of passion and friendliness, with an additional Breton pride.
Towards the current
traditional dance
The Kouhann Company is composed of dancers who have developed their skills in traditional dance and who all come from the Kevrenn Alré, a music and dance ensemble created in 1951 in the city of Auray. The musicians come from diverse horizons, and, at some point, crossed paths with the Company. It is an integral part of the ensemble of the Kevrenn Alré, just like its bagad, cercle, school… Together, the dancers and musicians have wished to explore new cultural horizons around the traditional Breton culture. It is in this spirit of creativity and innovation that the performances Lom Dilom and eVned have come to life. The collective won the 2023 Faltazian Trophy and received an official label from the Kenleur Confederation that same year, renewed in 2025.
